tour de sagaponack

Last Wednesday,
my daughter
was invited by a friend
to attend
"Tour de Sagaponack."

C's 10 year old friend
planned a bike ride
to raise money for

Children and parents
met at
Sagg Main Beach
at 5:15.

They were off and riding by 5:30!

The families rode to Madoo Conservancy
for a tour of the gardens.

The next stop was a tour and pizza
at the
It is an active one room school
built in 1885
and still educating students
in grades 1-4 today.

The final stop
was Wolffer Estate Vineyard

where we had
verjus, water, and cheeses
waiting for refreshments.

What a great experience,
created by a young girl
already making a
difference
in the world.

group for the east end's 40th

John and I

were fortunate to co-chair
the Group for the East End's
40th Anniversary Gala
on Saturday night.

We met Alec and Hilaria
and Alec's charming daughter, Ireland.
She was very sweet and quick to
mention her Georgia connection.

Alec's speech was, as always, hilarious.

We were honored to meet a living legend,
Billy Joel.

Besides it being an outstanding
environmental advocacy group,
this is always our most fun
summer party!

Good friends

and good times,

lead to some
(not so)
very good
Dancin'.

And when it was all said and done,
after the after party
at the American Hotel,
we were happy to find out
that these pics were Not the ones chosen
to be on
these websites!

in good company

Our good friends
Monet & Robert
and their wonderful, kind, gorgeous, funny,
 daughter Ally,
have been visiting
for the past week ~

so we've been crazy busy.

We started each morning
with a walk
at Long Beach.

Then,
 spent our days
shopping, going to the beach,
fishing (the guys),
and hanging out in
Sag Harbor.

C loved having a
big sister for the week

and I'm sure Lyons didn't mind
hanging out with a beautiful
friend.

We dined at Muse, Sen,
Tutto il Giorno,
and LT Burger.

We devoured ice cream
from Big Olaf's

and enjoyed the slow,
easy moments of summer time.

As the sun set on our last evening together,

we reflected on another week of great memories.

kismet

Every once in a while,
the stars align
and a frienship is born.
It is even better when that friendship
is between two couples.
A cosmic meeting of the minds
where
fun,
humor,
silliness,
seriousness,
and matters of the heart,
can be shared.

We found that with C & S
several years ago
and
it was such a joy
to be reunited with them
Friday night.

We met at their boat at 7pm
for an evening cruise
and cocktails.

Leaving the harbor
and our cares behind,

we popped some
Wolffer rose' sparkling.

Soon, we were laughing
and catching up.

Oh!  And posing.
We were definitely posing.

We talked and laughed
until sunset.

And then,
we walked to dinner.

(Have I ever mentioned how much I love Sag Harbor?)

We dined at the new Muse

where I enjoyed
the best salad
In the World.

And then we were off to
S & C's
for a rum tasting ~

which of course,
led to...
 juggling?

Another night,
another memory.
