kayaking

John and I often say
that you could never do
all there is to do in
the Hamptons.

For example,
after spending several hours at
Sagg Main Beach
the other day,
we drove home.
Upon arriving,
I opted to sit on our patio
on that pleasant afternoon
and read a really good book.
John & C
decided to walk
to the end of our street
and rent kayaks.

From there,
the adventure began.

They paddled to
a nearby island
and explored
the rocky terrain,

spending some
invaluable
father-daughter
time.

Another day,
another memory ~

and it's all going by
so fast!
I'm trying to hold on.
To make the days slow down.
But they are going by
faster and faster
toward the day
that we must
leave for Georgia
and the
real world.

As Scarlett once said,
"I'll think about that tomorrow..."

still celebrating

We had a great time celebrating
the 4th of July
at Jenn & Geoff's
beach club.

thebtsc.com

The facilities were very nice,

but they paled in comparison
to God's handiwork.

We found our group of friends
under one of the many blue and white umbrellas
dotting the horizon.

Jenn & I sat on the beach
enjoying the libations of the day

while the guys provided
chair service
and
lots of laughter.

The lifeguards
were ever vigilant

so there were no worries
as to the safety
of the children
as they rode the waves
in the ocean.

However,
I was more than a little
concerned
when faced with these guys.

Clowns just
freak me out.

fireworks

Sag Harbor
celebrated the 4th
with
fireworks
Saturday night.

We were so excited to be
invited to watch them
on S and C's boat.

It was a gorgeous evening

and love was in the air!

As the boat gently rocked,
we snacked, enjoyed the
setting sun, twinkling lights, and scenic view
of boats on the horizon.

As the sun set behind us,
the moon arose ~
and we basked
in its presence.

It was so peaceful and quiet
on the water...
until the
fireworks
burst the silence
with ear shattering booms
and dazzling colors.

The sparkling lights over the water
were breathtaking.

As we watched the spectacular show,
we reflected on the joys of
our freedom,
our gratitude toward
the soldiers who
defend that freedom,
and we brought a little
Georgia to the Hamptons
by playing
Lee Greenwood's
"God Bless the USA."

One of us cried.

Happy Independence Day!

i spy

With Lyons' friend from Georgia
in tow,

we made a jaunt to the city
yesterday.

While there,
we visited the
Discovery Museum
in Time Square.
It's one of our favorite places to tour.
The exhibits are always amazing and
it's the perfect length
to keep my children's attention.

The current exhibit
was ideal
to captivate our group.

It was SPY: The Exhibit.

The secret world of spies
was intriguing
and we all gained
a wealth of knowledge.
And of course,
had some fun!

Afterwards,
we stopped at Element
to purchase some backpacks
for the upcoming school year.

Yikes!
Did I just say that?

kicking off the 4th

The wine stand was hoppin'
Friday night.

We met up with dear friends

to enjoy the great music,
succulent wine,
and good times.

Even the kids
had a great time.

It's been an amazing June
and it's going to be a
fantastic
July!

tour de sagaponack

Last Wednesday,
my daughter
was invited by a friend
to attend
"Tour de Sagaponack."

C's 10 year old friend
planned a bike ride
to raise money for

Children and parents
met at
Sagg Main Beach
at 5:15.

They were off and riding by 5:30!

The families rode to Madoo Conservancy
for a tour of the gardens.

The next stop was a tour and pizza
at the
It is an active one room school
built in 1885
and still educating students
in grades 1-4 today.

The final stop
was Wolffer Estate Vineyard

where we had
verjus, water, and cheeses
waiting for refreshments.

What a great experience,
created by a young girl
already making a
difference
in the world.
