a wedding

On Saturday afternoon,
John and I attended a wedding.
It was beyond beyond.
The wedding was held at the Wolffer Estate
- a glorious 170 acres in Sagaponack.

Upon arriving, we were greeted with servers offering
tall glasses of ice water, fans, and bamboo umbrellas.
The weather couldn't have been better.
It was a perfect summer day -
warm, but not hot,
blue skies,
and an occasional light breeze from the ocean.
After chatting for a few minutes, we walked across a field to
find white benches in a semi-circle,
facing a beautiful flower-filled altar.

Joey is a whimsical, effervescent, person
and her wedding to Max reflected her carefree,
cheerful, relaxed, joie de vivre,
approach to life.

It was a fairytale wedding,
from the moment she arrived by horse and carriage ~

to being the most naturally
beautiful bride.

Escorted by her brothers, she entered to the song
"At Last."
Just gorgeous.

The touching ceremony was officiated by Joey's stepfather.
It was perfect and
 included how the couple met
as well as
four beautiful poems.
 I even have a new favorite  ~
"Touch the Air Softly"
by William Jay Smith.

(the bridesmaids dresses were gorgeous
-all the girls looked beautiful)

The recessional was to
"Make You Feel My Love."
by Bob Dylan.

Bliss.

The wedding was attended by the most elegant, fashionable
crowd I've ever seen.
Joey's parents are European and
therefore, in attendance, was a diverse group
from around the world.

(yes, that's kb)

(notice the fuschia flower girl dresses on the right)

As we walked over to the reception,
we passed a clothes line
holding our seating assignments for dinner.

The enormous tent on the left was for the seated dinner
and the circular tent was the bar for the reception.

As the family was photographed,
we sipped champagne, chatted with good friends,
and listened to the first band of the night.

I love how the gentlemen were dressed as
well as the ladies.

I looooved this dress and wish I had a better picture of it.

Elegance defined.

Can you see the vineyard in the background?

Later, we entered the tent for a seated dinner,
toasts, a second band, and dancing.

After dinner,
we danced the night away.

It was a beautiful ceremony,
a magical evening,
and I was honored to be included.

Best wishes for a life
filled with love & laughter
Joey and Max!
